18 months

Wow, how fast it goes by. We went for our 18 month check up today. For those who do not know, this includes 4 shots. Also for those who do not know, I DO NOT LIKE NEEDLES! Well Miss Ryleigh did wonderful. She had her bandaids off and playing again before the nurse even left the room. Her check up went good. We now weigh 22.6 pounds and are 34 1/4 inches tall. She has grown 2 1/2 inches since May (at her 15 month check up). Her head is still 50 percentile (as it has been since she was born). Her weight is 35%, that has dropped from 45% when she was born but the doctor is a-okay with it because she is still following 'her curve'. Back at her 15 mth check up she said she expected her to be between 30-35%. She said I am sure she is 'too busy' to eat right now. I asked if she had cameras located in our house..... She said dont worry about her, let her snack all day and she will be just fine. Her height has now gone OFF THE CHARTS at over 100%. This means if there are 100 18 months olds in a room, Ryleigh would be taller than all of them. We have always been 95-98, however this is the first time we are off the chart! I am now calling her amazon woman and telling her she is almost as long as a yard stick. She finds this quite funny. I however am wondering how we are ever going to find pants/tights this fall and winter. I have a feeling we will be investing in a good tailor. Her waist is so tiny and her legs so long, I doubt any pants are going to fit her! (wow I wish I had that problem). We have no more shots until we are 4. I am sure that day will come before we know it. It is passing way to fast!

Our friends Steven and Melinda are 4 wks from their due date and are moving this week. I laid in bed last night and realized I had Ryleigh at 36.5 wks and Melinda is MOVING! (God help her!) Well the point of all that is, it seems just like yesterday. Every day we wake up to a smiling face, sometimes that smiling face is still in her bed, sometimes in ours, however, we realize how blessed we are.

Well thats all for the blog for now. We are going to play and go for a walk around the block.

Summer Classes are Over..

Wow! My first semester of graduate classes. I can't believe I am at this point in my life. I can do it. I didn't necessarily doubt myself, I just well I don’t know how to explain it. I never ever wanted to go back to school. I didn’t want to sit in the classes. Did I have enough discipline to do the classes online? Well 3 months ago I decided to undergo that endeavor. I did it! I finished the semester.... and I finished it with a 3.0 GPA. The one class I received a C in was Educational Research. I struggled with the class. Statistics are not my friend. They never have been. I am just so excited. I start 3 more in about a month. The Children’s Literature class I had so much fun with. I really and truly enjoyed it. I never had done that in a 'college' class before. I had fun with the work. Yes, the time on this post is correct it's 3:48 in the morning. Ryleigh woke up teething and is watching Barney..so I decided to see if I could find my grades, they were suppose to be online this am but I could not find the location on the GSU Wings program. Wow! I am still in shock. One class I worked really hard on the past couple of weeks, Instructional Design, because I did the first assignment completely wrong. When the teacher returned it, I knew immediately what I did and corrected the problem, but did not know if it was too little too late. Hopefully, I will do a little better next semester. I now know I am capable!

Off to Alabama

We are leaving today to go to Alabama to see everyone. We just cant seem to stay at home for a full 7 days! Ryleigh got excited yesterday when I told her we were going to see Nanny and Bobo. She even said "bo", she is doing this every time we say Nanny & Bobo now. :)
Coye is equally excited about Ryleigh coming to Roanoke to see him. He has already been to Nanny's once to make sure Ryleigh was not there yet. He is going back right after lunch to wait on her. We are not leaving until 2 so hopefully he will not have to wait too long!

I am glad that Ryleigh gets to play with her cousins just as Jared, Cody and I did when we were growing up. It was always so much fun to go to Alabama to see everyone, and always an adventure. We were all just as close in age as the four of them are: Coye, Ashton, Ryleigh and Brynnley.

Hopefully we can get them all to be nice and let me take a photo to post!

We have a mouthful of teeth now!

So yesterday and last night *up until about 1130 when Ryleigh finally went to sleep* I would classify her as cranky. At one point when she was screaming, I was able to see in her mouth and at one point she even let me feel! BOY that child has some chompers now. She has 6 (I think) on the bottom front with 2 coming in the back. The top is about the same. I will be so glad when they are finished coming in, as she is a much happier child!

On another note, JB got the table and one chair finished yesterday. So just one chair to go. A few months ago I brought home the table that belonged to Jared, me, and Cody. In the last 28 years that table has held up! I found one just like it in Back to Basic Toys and they wanted way to much for it. So I stole mine from mommas house and it has sat in our garage. JB started on it this weekend... and it looks GOOOD! Brand new.

We are going to put it either in the kitchen or den. I want her to be able to eat at it as well as do arts and crafts. Growing up we used the table at various locations throughout our house... kitchen, den, bedroom as well as for various things.. eating, playing, puzzles, dancing on top of, etc! I think it has several more years in it.
Thats all for now. I will try to update with a photo of the table soon. As I have tried to upload them twice, and they went sideways..

Chair that has yet to be redone....

Finished product. I do not know why the photo will not turn the right way. After four times...I gave up!

Wow!

The last two weeks we have been on the road. First June 28-July 5 we were in PCB with Momma, Jeff and Cody (Taylor also came for that fun adventure). Then Ryleigh and I left on Sunday the 6th for Orlando with The Rogers. I almost backed out of going at the last min because Ryleigh was cutting four teeth on the PCB trip. She was very cranky. She did liven up in Orlando, she Loved LOVED LOVED Barney at Universal Studios, and Dr Seuss at the Islands of Adventure. She also had her first putt putt experience. A hole in one every time --- this is very easy to do when you pick the ball up and run it to the hole. She can not wait to go help Pop play golf.... she just may help his score! :)

She is also going to be in culture shock this week, as the boys (Christopher and Wesley) along with the help of Mr. Robert, spoiled her rotten. I thought we were going to have to rent a Uhaul to get her stuffed animals back home. If we had just one more.... I would have been kicked out of our bed, so I am glad we came home today (as we averaged at least a new stuffed animal a day). The stuffed animals range from the size of a fridge magnet to a teddy bear twice her size......

See our web site for photos, not all are up yet, but a good selection is there.
